What if you took advantage of the Indian summer to go to the Breton "corsair city", the well-named Saint-Malo? Fewer tourists, more sun: the perfect equation to go to the Malouine city. You must pass by the ramparts, which survived the Allied bombings of 1944, before entering the Old Town: old houses, private mansions, courtyards and picturesque passages. A digest of Breton history that is sure to impress! For the more adventurous, a small dive is necessary: our heart swings between the Grande Plage du Sillon (elected most beautiful beach in France in 2018!) and the more intimate Bon Secours Beach with its seawater pool that rivals its neighbor Cancale (see our article "A weekend in Cancale").
For a shopping trip, head to La Maison Générale: THE trendy concept store in Saint Malo where you can find beautiful fashion brands (this is where you will find our collections!) but also antique furniture, household linen and decoration accessories. Good news: the family has expanded with La Réserve: a former printing house of 550m2 rehabilitated as a loft, bringing together a tea room and a space dedicated to everyday objects, men's and women's ready-to-wear and body care. We don't know where to turn!
And what would Saint Malo be without its famous festival La Route du Rock: simply the best festival in the world (no, no, we are not chauvinistic at all!). And for twice the pleasure, La Route du Rock is available in two versions: the summer version (the most famous) and the winter version: more confidential, with a more specialized program. We can't wait to discover this winter's program!
