In Rinus Van de Velde’s studio in Antwerp (Belgium), fiction takes shape through the everyday actions of his collaborators and craftspeople.
Here, the Belgian artist and his team craft the sets for his films amidst a daily routine where materials pile up, tools are passed around and surfaces are transformed. Until another world emerges.
The Le Mont Saint Michel coat fits naturally into this environment: one of movement : of bodies, tools and materials.
A witness to the traces of labour and the passage of time.
Thank you to Rinus Van de Velde @rinusvandevelde and his entire team for letting us take a look behind the scenes of the workshop.
Thank you to Victor Robyn @victor_robyn for capturing these portraits in his signature film-like grain.
Thank you to Britt Peeters @blixemm for making this shoot possible.
