My Jacket, My Work.

Tell us the story behind your brand.

After working for five years with a designer, I felt the need to create something that reflected me.

I was brought up to love homes, beautiful objects and beautiful materials. I started with a simple idea that quickly found its audience. This encouraged me to found Série Limitée LOUISE.

What excites you most about creating everyday objects?

We treat our home collections like fashion collections, with limited series that are renewed every season. These everyday objects can be used to create beautiful tables or different gifts that are both unique and long-lasting. My first challenge was to highlight a simple everyday object that is often forgotten: the tea towel.

I print all my products in Paris, an important choice that allows me to stay close to my creations. I also pay close attention to the quality of the washed linen, which has to be soft and supple, and become softer with each wash. It’s a bit like old linen, passed down from generation to generation…

I also like the ecological character of linen, a fiber that requires no fertilizing or watering, and whose transformation is based on natural processes.

What creative process do you follow when imagining your new products?

Everything starts with a strong source of inspiration: an old book, a photograph, a place, an encounter with a brand or a museum. Then I embark on an in-depth research phase to gather images and motifs. Each piece is designed to be unique, yet harmoniously integrated into the collection.

I love working with brands with a history, archives rich in treasures such as documents, photos or old papers. I create customized collections for brands or museums.

What are your main sources of inspiration?

My inspiration comes from everything around me: a drawing by my son, a picture in a magazine, an exhibition in a museum. I also spend a lot of time hunting, opening my eyes to what’s around me. I’m sensitive to photographs that evoke our roots, bringing back emotions or memories.

The old images I find at flea markets and specialized markets have a unique ability to link generations. They are not simply archives: they carry stories and emotions. When you look at an old photo, you find familiar details or the atmosphere of a bygone era.

How would you define a successful family meal?

Good wine, friends, family, kids running around and good music!

What’s your favorite Le Mont Saint Michel piece?

The work jacket, of course! But also Madi, the trench coat; Vesoul, the mid-length woollen jacket; Paulize, the loose, flowing pants; and Senna, the ecru fisherman’s sweater.
