SORLAY MILITARY JUMPER

- Description
By dint of browsing thrift shops, books and archives, we have developed a certain taste for vintage military jumpers. Indeed, historically, wool jumpers have been used a lot in the military field for their solidity and the warmth they bring. We therefore wanted to offer an interpretation of the military jumper.
+Fit and sizing
Our Sorlay jumper is very different with its ribbing that runs up the saddle sleeves. The sleeves are saddle sleeves (also known as hammer sleeves), a technique that is used much less often than the raglan sleeve or the classic fitted sleeve, but it also has its advantages. Like a raglan sleeve, the hammer sleeve is very comfortable, it does not restrict movement at all and like a set-in sleeve the shoulder is always well shaped. In navy, khaki or grey, the colours are easy to wear and the slightly mottled look of the yarn brings a real brightness, perfect for winter.
Xavier is 6’1’’ (1,85m) tall and wears the size M

+Manufacturing
Our Sorlay jumper was entirely conceived and designed in our botanical HQ in Brittany. Then we went to one of the best Italian spinners to get its yarn and had it knitted in Europe by the expert hands of our partner company. Our workshops have all been audited by independent organizations and we regularly check the quality of working conditions and environmental standards of our partners.

100% virgin wool
Hand wash or machine wash: hand wash cycle/wool cycle, cold water, with a soft laundry detergent, minimum spin (600) or none, dry flat.
Material & care
The knit of our jumper is made of 100% virgin wool: this is the wool from the very first shearing of a lamb. This first shearing of wool is the finest and softest wool taken from a sheep during its life. Virgin wool is naturally breathable in cold and hot weather, water repellent (protects against moisture), durable and insulating. It can be washed gently by hand in cold water or machine washed on a hand/wool programme, cold, with a mild detergent such as Mir Laine and a minimum spin (600). Then dry flat to prevent the knitwear from deforming.
